Hello, is there anyone willing to refer me at KPMG Canada for IT Support Analyst position? I will be graduating end of next month and I strongly feel my skills and experience are a great match for the role. I’m being ghosted by the recruiter for this role for almost 3 weeks now. I’d really appreciate your support. Thank you very much! KPMG

Many #machinelearning algorithms, whether supervised or unsupervised, make use of distance measures.
Take k-NN for example, a technique often used for supervised learning. As a default, it often uses euclidean distance.
By itself, a great distance measure.
Knowing when to use which distance measure can help you go from a poor classifier to an accurate model.

I'm a recent BB IB hire myself with no seniority, so I can't be of much help, but as a side note, having interacted with all of our departments, I'd highly recommend becoming a commercial banker (credit analyst) as opposed to a financial analyst. The work there is much more interesting & fun, it's relatively client facing, there's no busy season whatsoever (steady 9-5pm), triple the prestige, and the pay is a lot better. Not to mention fantastic exit ops.
Entry Level job interview is literally "what makes a company credit worthy? Google the 5 C's, and What are the 3 financial statements and how do they connect? Google has the answer beforehand. Not to mention, WSP won't have been a waste and she'll still be ahead of the rest.
One day when I can't do these all-nighter grinds anymore, I'll likely pivot to MD of the CB department. I'll take a nice pay shave, but hey $800k+ for a 9-5 job ain't too shabby. Mmmhhh I'm dreaming hard here... Just some food for thought. Most FA's (with the same credentials) max out at $150k.
Fyi, I moved to IB from consulting.
@OP, for yourself as well, if you ever feel like leaving consulting you can always join CB. I can guarantee the salary will be much fatter. And if you can't stand or don't have a family, an MBA and hustle can pull you the IB route as well.
Sorry I couldn't help.. 🥴 good luck!
Less than a yr (still under the category of recent grad). Any longer and I'd have had to gotten an MBA first.
Was a reg KPMG pmo-esque management consultant.
