Hi everyone, need some advice.
A local b d / ria has an opening for an Advisor. We provide the leads in the form of current abandoned brokerage clients and the advisor just needs to build relationships and grow the business.
In addition he/she would have the opportunity to build and lead a team of other advisors.
For a candidate with 12+ years of experience what would be an appropriate compensation structure (base plus commission %)
Thank you in advance for your help.

Salary compensation will be different for San Francisco vs Topeka, Kansas. Maybe more information about the location/cost of living would assist your request.

Good point. Raleigh NC

I’d do a % of their prior trailing 12 revenue. (Maybe 50%) for 3 years + full payout on what they produce. Let the “salary” scale down as their production ramps up, encouraging them to build relationships and grow the business faster.

After 3 years of dealing with the worst firm I've ever had the displeasure of working for, I finally landed my dream gig at a small specialty firm. The people at the new firm are all SMEs featured in and contributors to the most notable business publications in the world, less than 100 employees, better benefits, unlimimted PTO, doubled my pay and landed a senior role.

Keep looking for what you want and deserve. I'm happy to be forging a better path away from what I've had to endure.

It seems like everyone is in agreement that switching firms gives you a salary boost, but that you could be viewed as someone that doesn’t stick around. Has anyone felt like they got held back from jumping firms every 2-3 years for the salary bump? I know peers that bounced around 2-4 times in a 7 year span and they are making significantly more money than if they stayed at their first job, however it didn’t seem like any of the new companies cared that they bounced around.
