Hi Everyone- UK based here.. so after rounds of interview an HR from Morgan Stanley asked me to disclose my five years salary history. I found it quite uncomfortable as I feel like I'm losing my bargaining power in negotiating my salary. Any similar experience and how you come to terms in this situation? Thank you

Update: Not sure if you saw my other post, but I've come clean to my girlfriend about my actual salary ($80K vs. the $270k I lied to her about). So, she asked for some time away to think about things, which is totally fair. She was shocked, disgusted, and disappointed. But I think I still have a chance. Anyways, just sharing because so many folks were giving me great advice. I've given her space and I'm heartbroken but I know it's for the best.

I have interviewed with Google twice in the last year for PM. Both interviews had led to pretty detailed discussions after the first question and both interviewers have said they agreed with my explanations but I have not been able to move to the next round. The recruiter doesn't provide feedback as well. Any pm here willing to chat to help me with how to address this?

Which firm has the best WLB at the C/SC level? I mean consistently less than 50 hours per week?

After not hearing back after applications/initial interviews from some of the big name brands, I took an offer from a small firm as this is my first consulting job (switching from industry) and was hoping I could use it as a stepstone for some experience.

Now in the onboarding/visa switch process, two of the firms finally contacted me and offered me next stage interview… would it be a bad idea to decline my offer and give them a shot?

I just want to be happy. I’ve tried all the things but what I really want is just someone that gives a shit. Doesn’t have to be a romantic partner or anything. Has anyone received medication for ADD and found it very helpful? I’ve been struggling so hard to focus and stay motivated for the past few months. It’s now affecting my work performance very seriously. It’s frankly terrifying me that I won’t be able to get it under control. I’m wondering just how helpful medication would be and whether it’s worth pursuing as an option.

Does anyone else struggle to accept your diagnosis? I’ve had two therapists suggest I try medication, but I can’t help feeling like I’m just too weak to handle the challenges of the world. That medication is the “easy way out”. In weekly therapy (+other lifestyle changes), but my anxiety/depression just seems to be getting worse.

Hey all, not to be that person, but I very much struggled and still have my bouts with depression. Going gluten free (strict for months to see improvement) helped me an insane amount with getting rid of my depression and lifting the fog. I still have anxiety but cutting out coffee has helped. Just passing along my experience in case it might help someone.

Need some help: doing taxes and seems I exceeded the comp limit to create a Roth IRA and process a $6k 2020 contribution due to wife’s government unemployment pandemic boosts/extensions. They’re telling me the normal ‘it’s keep the lights on plus equity’, but they’ve raised 800M… I haven’t spent any time in the start up space, so not sure if there’s any general standards for this type of situation. For reference 3YOE in boutique consulting, strategy/analytics focused, with MBA. Current TC is 165k.

Is it wise to negotiate a "take it or leave it" offer? Also, when there is such an offer, do you think that company really looking to hire you? It does not encourage any communication which gives an impression that they do not need you but if you join at their offer, they are okay. To put things in perspective, offer is inline with industry average but slightly lower than what I am making right now.
