Agree with above. Ask the landlord, room mate etc. Probably not cool to have a full time guest (like a SO). For temp visits from friends, just discuss and time bound it (3 days here etc)
Don’t ask the landlord as s/he might say no or charge you. No way the landlord would find out unless your flatmates go to her. DO ask your flat mates and make sure they’re cool with it. And offer to pay your and your guests’ share of utilities if they stay for a week or more.
Yeah acceptable, but best to run it by anyone sharing the place with you first (out of courtesy, and also if you want to be a stickler most contracts 'legally' say not allowed)
