Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can give some advice. I’m currently choosing between 2 companies. 1 role is for hr shared services and another for HR sourcing associate( mostly admin work and my team would be based in the US) which role has more growth? I live in the philippines and i’m only considering the shared services cause it pays about 600$ as compared to 400$ a month.

Shared services gives you broader exposure and it looks like a significant amount more in $ I’d say go w SS

Are both companies US based? Who will you report to in each scenario? What do you want out of your career? Good luck and congrats on the offers!!

uplifting

Hi! Both companies are international. For the shared services role, its mostly policies and benefits. We’ll be responding to tickets and inquiries.

I agree, I think Shared services seems like the better opportunity

I think both are similar in terms of career progression. Better to choose the more paying then.

Hi everyone! I'm currently looking for a new job. I have 5.5 years of HR experience in per-employment tasks such as background checks. What should a fair salary expectation be for me? I am located in the Bay Area.

An employee came to me in confidence to raise concern about a colleague of hers who speaks often about guns and how many he owns, etc. Based on what she's described, I don't believe this person has been threatened in any way, but it's clear that the situation is making her feel very uncomfortable - especially given recent events. What, if anything, can I or should I do to help? The company is on the smaller side, so there's really no option to move either employee to a different team.

I started at a new company about 2 months ago. I joined during a slow period of work and going into the holidays has practically been nothing. However when I do need approvals on things or direction from my boss it is radio silence. I can not get a response to save my life and I feel as if people are getting frustrated with me because of this. It also makes me feel as if there is no urgency in my position or the company in general. Wondering if this is even the right company for me.

I’m heavily considering and would love to transition from HR to Employment Law (employer side), however, that would require law school and I’m already in debt from getting my masters in HR. I’d like to get some insight on this though. Has anyone here ever made this type of transition or know of anyone who has? Was it worth it? Any regrets? Does it seem silly for me to do this having a masters without knowing if I’ll truly like it or not?

Thanks guys!
