Why does every DEI role I see ask for 7-10+ years of experience when companies didn’t care about this until ~2018 or later?
So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?
Someone from Kirkland and Ellis messaged me about Cooley opening in Chicago. I accidentally rejected your message! Please DM me again :)
Looking for a CD/CW position either remote or in Atlanta. Any advice - recruiters, etc. is very welcome. Thank you so much in advance.
What do you think will be the impact of this rapid hiring for MBB? MBB is hiring so rapidly. When it cools down, do you think MBB will realize they over hired? Will it become harder for associates (post MBA) to get promoted? Will it become more competitive for Associates to get staffed on projects they want to be on? Will there just be too many consultants at the Firm and a mass layoff? McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
Hoping to exit to FAANG/Microsoft in the TPM space in a year or so. Any recs on professional development focus areas? Any certain worth pursuing in free time?
What are tips for interviewing when your current role has defeated you? I’m anxious and depressed a decent amount of the time. All I think about it my job right now & how terrible it is..even though I’m trying to remember I need this job to financially support myself. I think it has also knocked down my confidence and self esteem and so now I’m wondering why anyone would want to hire me after interviewing me.

What are the potential exit opps from Finance Transformation? Pretty sick of process/tech in Finance function and want to do something more fulfilling 🥴
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Recently laid off from KPMG audit after 3 years. I’m on an H1B so odds are tough. If anyone could help me with a referral to a transaction services/restructuring role at another services firm or middle market bank, would be grateful. I know it’s a long shot but thought it’s worth posting.

Is getting a small, simple nose ring/stud an issue if you’re client facing? I’m starting FT in January but I’ve heard mixed comments. Will it be a problem as I move up? I’ve been meaning to get it since forever but now I’m unsure…

Received a referral from a McKinsey Associate for a BA role. Applied about a week ago through the referral portal for it, just curious as to how long it takes to hear back and if a referral even guarantees a screening call? Thanks for any help in advance! McKinsey & Company

Anyone here involved with MBA recruiting? My friend is trying to decide if he wants to attend Kellogg this fall (from South Korea) or just continue his job and re apply to business school for next fall or two years from now. He has an undergrad from a top 10 US school and wants to come back to the US and is also worried about the trump administration and whether he’ll even get to stay in the US.

I wanted to screenshot the good bits but honestly the entire article is gold. Woman gets fired from KPMG UK for a series of very bizarre events, such as installing a rice cooker in a meeting room. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/06/21/trainee-accountant-sacked-accusing-boss-mansplaining-tribunal/
Would u give up ur beloved pet to move in w ur SO? My bf has a viscous, possessive cat that only is nice to him. That cat attacks, bites, & scratches w an aggression that is clearly designed to maim, not play. I dn’t feel like I can ask him to shelter the cat bc the thing would surely be put down. None of his friends or fam want to adopt it & get attacked by the little beast for the nxt 15 yrs. Plus if we don’t work out., he’s without his baby for no reason. I want a life w him bt idk what to do
