Hi everyone!

I am fairly new to the app and stumbled across it by the wonderful people at Wonsulting, so I would appreciate any and all likes to DM!

I happen to have a lot of struggles with trying to break into the HR role due to my background consisting in a variety of fields (warehouse, retail, IT, etc.). I have a BA in Human Resource Management, but it hasn't helped. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to actually get my foot in the door? Thank you!

Welcome! I assume you have already tried getting an HR position within one of those sectors? Tech seems like it might be a possibility based on your experience.

I have tried these areas, but I haven't had any luck. I follow a few different career guides and have tweaked my resume over the weekend, so I'm hoping that'll help me land interviews at least.

Gave you a like :) Welcome!

I have just gone through my final rounds of interviews for a non-counsel in-house role focused on compliance (think big tech FAANG). Part of me thinks this is finally the perfect opportunity to rid myself of biglaw for good, but the other part of me thinks this may be blowing my chance at future attorney opportunities. I am honestly over biglaw and don't think I would ever look back, but the prospect of being permanently tagged as a non-attorney is somewhat scary. Has anyone gone down this path?

Considering a Comp and Benefits Mgr role at a non-profit. I'd be losing about $6K in salary (currently corporate finance) and would be in the office 2-3 days a week (currently 100% remote).
