In all likelihood it would be easier to recruit for another firm. Most firms are notorious for having tons of gate keeping for their strategy groups.
I was in EY consulting and tried for two years to get into EYP and had partner support from both sides. Ultimately it never happened so I just left the firm and never looked back lol
Just firm politics. Region and industry partners not wanting to let people from their practice go to the more attractive EYP
Happy to refer to PwC! I left EY and it’s definitely easier to just switch firms versus trying to transfer.
It’s very difficult to get in to Strategy& but I can do my best to help you out! DM me if you want to chat more
Better start networking and let your counsellor know you want to switch. I would also be prepared to move outside the company as if you aren’t able to transfer before they start initiating the split sometime next year then you would have to technically “leave” EY and get hired by the NewCo anyways. I don’t know this for sure, but i would bet that once we reach a certain point (not sure when that point would be) they will stop any internal transfers that would be between AssureCo and NewCo. With likely a long list of people trying to move around I would get cracking on this transfer right away if that’s what you want. Be aware though that this process can take a long time and you’ll have competition with other people trying to join NewCo before the split, so if it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen right away it would probably just be easier to go somewhere else
