What is it about MBB consultants that makes you all different than Big 4 consultants from a talent perspective and more qualified (to clarify: interviewed for all 3 but didn't get an offer; at D now)
WLB in MBB India - can folks share their views on which among MBB has better WLB in India? Specifically in the Operations / Supply Chain practice
Brand name versus type of experience. Assume experience at the brand name will be less relevant to what I want to do long-term. The “brand” in this case is not Big 4/MBB
Interviewing for MIT Sloan Fellows MBA (1 year program) shortly. 10YOE and joining MBB in a couple of months, post-MBA level role. Reading some previous FB posts disparaging the SF program and feeling a bit downhearted about it. Are Sloan Fellows really looked down on by the normal (2 year) Sloan MBA program? Are there better alternatives for a 1 year MBA? MIT has been a dream for a while but it’s kind of like being told your baby is ugly…
Any Big 4 fish who are not really pursuing MBB for exit ops... what are your exit goals?? And for what reasons? Trying to find options other than chasing MBB
Looking at you MBB & FAANG
Big 4 salary is such a meme out of college, lateraling to MBB and my total comp is 2.2x as much -_-
How to do stop comparing yourself with others? I struggle a lot with my path in life and my career choice. I didn't come from a wealthy family, and was a bit of a late bloomer. Even on fishbowl there seems to be a focus on a great career is MBB, Investment banking or tech company vibe.
Want to apply to MBB, not sure what the possibilities are: 2 YOE, ServiceNow / ITxM, Engagement Management, 4.0 GPA from Top 50 state school - do I stand any chance? Where could I fit in (technology / practice)? Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company McKinsey & Company Thanks!
Hello fellow MBB fish! I had a question I am hoping to get insights on. I accepted an offer from McKinsey in NYC and was supposed to start in March, which I now pushed to May.
My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Thinking of buying AWAY carry on. Brick color looks nice online - would this count as a too casual color for business trips? Female, 28 MBB.
Is anyone that is at MBB currently willing to do a mock case interview with me? It would be greatly appreciated. (Feel free to DM)
Taxes. I work in Chicago but interviewing for a remote role with a New York agency. Will I have to pay taxes in Illinois and New York? How has this worked for all of you during remote?
Folks on H-1B, do you really need to be in your home office (or within commutable distance during COVID) 1 day per week? How strictly is this enforced, if at all? Thank you!
RSM senior con salary range in tier 1 or 2 city? In their technology consulting. Thank you.
Amazon FLDP vs Gartner Consulting (post-MBA level). I am worried taking Amazon will close the door for consulting in the future. Amazon comp - 130k base + 80k sign-on bonus (~45k first year, ~35k second year) + 100k RSU (4 year vest). Gartner - 125k base + 15K EOY Bonus + 10k sign-on bonus. Do I pass on my hopes for consulting and chase the money?
Deloitte fish I’ve received an offer two weeks ago. Is it possible to defer entry/start date to 1 year later? Reason being because I’m interested in taking up an internal opportunity Also does Deloitte provide study leave? And find acca exam costs? Deloitte

Looking for personal finance book recommendations. Have read Dave Ramsey but looking to branch out and read something by a widely-respected authority in the finance world. A friend recommended “I Will Teach You to Be Rich” but idk. TIA!
PHR or SHRM? I am looking to get more certifications related to HR vs recruiting, but I am unsure on which one is "better" or will help me grow into more of a strategic HR role. Help!!!
currently on a very disorganized project that I really want to roll off. How to roll off without burning the bridge?
Received an Amazon non-technical L4 offer, what can I expect for annual raises and bonus, if at all?
What’s your target base salary percent increase when changing companies? I’d really like at least 25% to make it worth it.
I have been assigned 50% staffing but my Project manager expects me to put in 100% time as I am not staffed on any other project. Is it fair for him to expect this? I am upset as this affects my utility rate.
Is breaking into product management role in tech worth it ? I currently work as a IB, but sick of it and have a opportunity from a huge tech company. But they want me to come in as a junior PM. My colleagues would have 2-4 years experience. I have 8yrs exp and a masters. TC is ~200k, but would have to move to Bay Area. Am I too late to shift ? Would I hate Bay Area if I move from nyc ?
Hey Fishes, As a fresher, I am seeking a job in the Anaplan role since I have 2.5 years of experience, but in another role. Can anyone recommend me to any companies? Just earned an Anaplan Level 2 certification.
