This is specific to my situation, but I’d love discussions on how to lead through influence vs. as a direct people manager. I’m in a leadership role as an IC and am trying to figure out how to assert myself, own my space and influence decision-making when I can’t directly tell people what to do.
I’d be interested in influencing across the organization as well!
This bowl has been extremely helpful to me. I’d like advice on asking for promotions, gathering support, networking with sr executives to socializing your plans. Thank you

Noted! Thank you for sharing that this bowl has been helpful to you! 😊
I’m relatively young, so I’d like advice about leadership/managing teams, especially for first-time managers and discussions about obstacles that female bosses experience in the workplace!
I am 9 years into my career and a new manager, I see the landscape changing and expectations from me evolving. I love the fact that we hear and learn from each other about leadership:managing teams, being women leaders in workplace!
I would like to see more conversations on negotiations for compensation. I lead a big team 1000 people and i want to see my female team negotiation more for the $ they deserve to even out the pay difference.

This is a common challenge and a great subject. Thank you for sharing!
I would like some advice on how to negotiate your salary?

Salary seems to come up often! Definitely going to include next! Thank you
I ask for what I am worth and remind my boss that he does not decide my comp the market does. I am absolutely loyal to Kpmg and to him but he needs to remember what I bring to the bottom line and a women in leadership has a premium to it. I never ask for a raise I just remind him what he has and others want it to. Men are all about winning a competition so make the feel like they need to pay you to win. My strategy, it may not work everywhere and at all level but the important point is you have to have a strategy and you have to be comfortable asking for financial reward. My women either don’t ask or come and demand X number and those strategies are not elegant and strategic enough.
Yes. I know. It can be hard and it is important to not come off too demanding. One piece of advice is start to talk about it BEFORE you are told. And before the salary increases are distributed so for Kpmg that is within the next few weeks. I like when people start with conversation around I am happy and enjoy my work and know it is a tough job to determine comp for you so I thought it would be worth a discussion.
I’d like advice on how to manage my team through this time of social and political upheaval, and advice on how I (Gen-X) can deal with the traits that annoy me about millennial attorneys.
Vicarious traumatization is a real thing though, no? I felt like that when I was working on genocide and human rights abuse monitoring: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/here-there-and-everywhere/201710/watching-violent-news-video-can-be-hazardous-your-health
Networking opportunities. Career advice in specific fields.
Absolutely. I’m on the market to meet professionals and potentially connect with someone with work/ learning opportunities.
I’d love to have an opportunity for a book club! Learning something new and discussing ideas and/or theories among like minded women would be good for the soul 💛 #motivation

Thank you for the suggestion!
I’d love to hear more about leading when you are in a role where you are a “misfit”. Examples: women in traditionally male roles, women underemployed / under titled, leading without having to use emojis and exclamation points to “soften” the tone.
I’ve been an analytics manager for several years, and these are constant battles. Everyday feels like a battle to do my job and get teams the information they need while hiding behind niceties.
Real dialogue and advice from fellow leaders would be massively helpful and encouraging for me.
I’ve just accepted a role to lead teams across two bi-coastal offices, so I’m eager to hear about how to do that successfully. Also curious to hear advice on how to keep morale up right now, something I’ve been specifically tasked to do.
