Hi! First off, I know none of this constitutes legal advice, etc., but I’d like some outside perspectives and advice here.

My wife found out she makes ~25% less that her male co-worker did when he was her level of seniority, and they have the same job responsibilities and the exact same credentials (same undergrad, masters program, etc.); he now makes 50% more than she does, but has 3 more years of WE, so to me that’s not as applicable.

Does she have a claim here? Need any other details?

Maybe. Assuming WE is work experience, that’s a pretty gender neutral reason to rebut the pay discrepancy. Contact a lawyer.

She may have a claim with respect to the 25% differential, but she is probably best off using this info to negotiate for better pay rather than suing her employer and burning bridges…

28 years old and just broke up with my gf of 3.5 years. Feel like the biggest difference from this split and prior ones (highschool, college) is the impact it seemingly has on parents/grandparents that were hoping to see you get married and have kids soon.

I’m an L&E associate entering my 5th year at a mid-sized regional law firm (approx. 400 attorneys). Barred in PA/NJ. Billed 2100 last year but my requirement is 1950. Should I try to lateral into BigLaw or should I try to go in house? Are either of those realistic options for me? I seem to be doing a significant amount of municipal law too, which is not what I expected or wanted at all. I want a life but would also hate to take a pay cut. Interested in L&E. Advice?
