Anxiety due to the pandemic? Or expectations at work because of being short staffed? Do you feel comfortable talking to your boss? Is it the commute? Absolutely quit if you need too. Steady paychecks can lead to complacency. You can’t grow when your in a constant state of stress. Are you maybe some resentment that your partner can work from home? Do some soul searching. And please know… so many are going through same thing. Look at this as an opportunity to create your own change.

Do you mean helpful as in, financially? Or chores around the house? If going back to school is really something you want to do, then talk to him about it. What are you going to school for? Is he supportive of higher Al education?

I’m not a physician

I don’t know why it says that, but I’m not a physician. I’m a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Just reaching out to see how this pandemic has affected you or your family

Let me count the ways… I’m a nurse and I hate it here. I loved my job before the pandemic and now I want to leave and work in literally anything else.

What are you needing help with? I can tell you the pandemic was initially very hard on our family. After we got Covid my husband was able to return more to normalcy. Prior to that his anxiety and need for control was very difficult on our marriage and family.

…I had a feeling alcohol may have been involved… A lot of people are numbing with one substance or another, or binge tv, or whatever. It may be better to let yourself feel the feels and talk about them so you can get some clarity about next moves. I would urge you to consider developing boundaries with your employer and sticking with them. What’s the worst they can do? Fire you? Which frees you to try something else. You win either way. Boundaries meaning what you will say no to (overtime, skipping lunch, whatever it is). This is what I wish I would have done before I quit.

I’m having a hard time staying motivated lately. Really apathetic about everything. Feels like I’m falling into a bad depressive slump. I’m getting more and more behind on work because I just can’t sustain focus for longer than a couple hours at a time. There’s no one to shift my workload to, and as much as the legal industry talks about lawyer mental health, it’s still a taboo topic. I know it’s the pandemic causing this downswing, but I don’t know how to shake myself out of this rut.

I recently left the bank channel and went Indy, I’ve been successful at moving clients and assets over and am just getting started. A former bank advisor colleague has show interest in partnering up. For comparison purposes our AUM and production numbers were comparable. I did more fee based business while he did more VA and insurance business but we both have a fairly balanced product mix. What are thoughts on forming a new partnership? What should I be thinking about while having discussions?

Would love to hear from moms whose babies went to daycare / school right after maternity leave (no nanny etc). Due in March and on the list for a stellar Montessori daycare / preschool near us to start in August (school year) when baby is 4-5 months old. Feeling guilty and struggling to decide if keeping baby home a year with a nanny is better, starting school in 2023? However, I’m worried about cost - we really would not be able to afford a nanny in our city on our salaries. Advice welcome!

Hi everyone, I’m a student interning at a MM CPA firm in the assurance practice. However, I’d like to transition into TAS at a big 4. Deeply believe everyone should put on house-clothes as soon as you get home. Laying in bed or on your couch with your Chicago Red Line or NY’s Q line pants, or your movie theater, bar, or ballgame pants… disgusting. And if you come visit me, there’ll only be one spot for you to sit unless you take your pants off. Same for your shirt and stuff should it have touched anything. Stay clean. Stay healthy. You wouldn’t put your naked 🐱 or 🍆 directly onto said subway seats either.

Moved into a new house almost 2 years ago. Been receiving lots of mail from previous owners. For the first year and a half, we diligently kept up with keeping it and giving it to one of their friends who lives in our neighborhood to pass along. Also reminded them several time to forward mail. I’m done. For last couple of months I’m shredding mail and donating packages to goodwill. I’m not their P.O. Box and I gave them ample notice. Wife thinks I’m being harsh, am I wrong?
