Hi! First time working with a larger company - suggestions on handling pronouns at work?

I’ve worked with smaller agencies where it was easier to bring up. Now I’m on a larger team, talking to/referencing people I’ve never met. I’m less concerned about my own pronouns and more concerned about how to make sure I’m using the correct pronouns for the people I work with.

I’ve been structuring sentences to avoid gender specific pronouns but would love to hear suggestions. Thanks!

Do people put it in their signature? Can you start the trend?

No one else does (that I’ve seen) but I think I’m going to add it to mine. Thank you!

I would put it in your email signature and try to get some team members to do the same. Worth a shot seeing if you can get HR to encourage the practice as well. Or if you have an LGBT employee resource group, maybe having them lead the charge on that. I think just prefacing it in larger meetings will help too and hopefully they will pass on the message to others to refer to you with those pronouns

What are the best ways to collect demographic details from your employees?

Our business is two years old and about 60 full time employees strong. We've never gathered demographic details from our team members such as ethnicity, cultural identify, sexual orientation, etc. and recently ran into an instance where the percentages of diversity among staff was requested. We obviously do not intend on guessing so I'd love your best options of how you gathered this info. where you are! thanks.

Hi. People Manager here. I've been one for 12 years now and I encourage my team to not be "yes" people. At this time, it feels like my manager wants me and my team to be yes people for her. How do I deal with this? I've never been a yes person and I don't preach this to my reports. I don't know what to do. Help?

So... is everyone else's Resource Manager as much of a bitch as the one in my office?

Thoughts on asking for a new manager?

So my current CD kinda doesn't give any direction. They look at what I've done and change like one word. Maybe I'm an acd and I don't need much oversight? They also ask me to help lighten their load but never know what needs to be done and tell me to ask the account or design team. I just don't think they are super interested in working any more. 1 junior and a mid level already asked to leave this team. I don't wanna cause trouble or get them (or me) fired

Hi y’all! Hope this is the right bowl to post this question and get advice. I am dealing with an employer that preaches our values. The owner states that the values are important to her etc yet my manager violates these values and is involved in unethical behavior frequently. Example 1: My manager has told specialists (resourcers) that she will pay them under the table in order for her (manager) to get full credit vs splitfor the placement and therefore (barely) hit her target for the quarter.

It is common practice at my small firm by two main partners to fly through transactions for clients regardless of potential conflicts (for the company) or issues that may arise. It is often chaotic and has led to lawsuits being filed by investors against the clients. I know this is expected from time to time but I feel like I’m not getting the proper exposure to doing deals the right way. Would it be better at a larger firm or is this common anywhere? Mostly deal with microcap companies.

I lied about my relevant experience with TCS HR in order to get a bit more package , my actual relevant experience is 3.6 whereas I told 4.6 yrs..

1 year exp. which is irrelevant for the role I'm being hired for.. I made my mind bcoz this 1 yr irrelevant experience is also from IT company only, so in BGV TCS HR conducts enquiry if I had I just worked there or not right?? , I'm assuming they'll not enquire my roles & responsibility, previous tech stack that I was working on..
