Is it better to be a high performer or an average performer in Deals? I just started working and am conflicted because I don’t want to burn out but i also don’t want to be on the bench.
Question: I joined EY around a month back. On bench still and nobody apart from HR has contacted me. I have found another offer in the meanwhile. They are prepared to give me a 50% hike on EY's package. Should I take it or wait? My friends say, frequent job hopping will affect my resume. Tbh, I spent 6years at my last organization and EY is my first switch. I'm unhappy so far and don't think its a right fit for me. Any advice? Should I wait or go? Or negotiate with HR in EY against this offer?
How transparent can I be with my coach? I’m on a project that doesn’t align with my goals and I’m getting burnt out. I want to switch to other work on this project or request to be rolled off. Can I talk to my coach about my increased anxiety and burnout? What about my manager?
I've been on the road nonstop for 2.5 years and have been on the bench for the last week. Is it bad that I enjoyed my washer breaking today so I could actually fix something with my hands again?
Pet peeve: people who use the bench at the gym to sit, but then stand and do their workout standing right in front of it.
New hire, on the bench for a couple weeks now. About to be put on a "market research" team but I don't think that's what I should be doing...what to do help!
Has anyone also struggled to get on a project as a new hire? Doing all I can (I think) networking, volunteering, speaking to staffing manager etc but can't seem to get off the bench.
Any recommendations for Caribbean islands with high end casinos / sports books on the beach? Context: planning a bachelor party in late March and want to combine gambling for the NCAA tournament with some beach time. Thanks!
How do you tell someone that they are being rolled off due to performance issues and budget cuts. The resource isn't necessarily bad but definitely performs below level. Think senior consultant that operates like a new analyst, needs a lot of hand holding, lacks confidence, can't interact with client alone. That coupled with budget cuts, I'm rolling them off. Thoughts on how I should message this?
How do you say goodbye when you roll off? Do any of you do anything special? Had an awesome team, got to do desired work and everyone helped along...this being my first project
Anyone else rack up a crazy monthly food spend in first month of a local project / on the bench / after leaving consulting?
To my M who assigned my work to your fav SA: thanks, glad you took it off my plate. But stop being a douche about me being late for internal stuff. your fav SA took all of y'day off. Bench = Beach? 😡
Been on the bench nearly a month doing internal work because project I'm reserved for keeps getting pushed. How do I get out of this and get on something chargeable?
Worst part of being on the bench is the feeling of dread you get when you get pinged on Lync "Hey do you have bandwidth to work on a deck? No charge code though!"
M here. Beach time La la la 🎼.... any F🐟 free and looking to chat? Won’t bore you with just my music, more fun than that 😃
Just started at Accenture on Jan 8 and an oracle technical integration specialist level 9. How long are people typically on the bench for? Also, what is the best process for finding a project?
I'm ~7 months into my new role at Accenture. During the time I accepted the offer, I also had one from Slalom. Accenture hasn't been that great. I'm not doing the work I would like and there's just a bunch of other BS on the side for me to deal with. Sat on the bench for my first 4 months and then they put me on a staff aug project...I feel like I made the wrong decision. (Cont)
Tips for staying on the bench for a couple weeks waiting for a project to start without getting staffed on something else?
How does this sound?

How great would office emojis be in this app?
Beyond 2 lines the text in each post card is cut off. I wonder how many lines in the comment section?
Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...
Neighbor’s kid started practicing piano all day long. I support the learning but goddamn the kid sucks at it, and it’s hard listening to this trap house dubstep jazz all day long while I work, and I don’t want to wear my headphone all day as a solution. How to approach their parents? Can you even lower the volume of practicing piano?
Does anyone work or know anyone who works at Mastercard? In the process of having interviews lined up. Do they credit check though? Have a pretty bad credit and I’d hate to be in an awkward position where I get denied because of credit. Should I cancel the interviews?
Would you stay if you’ve been re-org’d under a leader who doesn’t share information, blows you off, and doesn’t support your growth? How long do you need to stick it out so it doesn’t mar your resume?
Best city/suburb to live in the US? Looking for good public schools, temperate weather, outdoor activity options, not overly expensive.
Do you guys work while at the airport? on the plane to the client site? At the airport waiting for the return flight? On the return flight? What about when you’re with someone from work? Felt I Cont.
I saw a presentation on digital platforms and it listed Appian, Microsoft, Pega, Salesforce. Is Workday not considered a digital platform?
I’m worried my boss knows I keep breaking into their house. Most weekday evenings my boss is out dining with clients, so like any other junior employee I take that time to enter their home and go through their stuff. Last week my boss found my ID card in their bathtub (I needed a quick wash while there). While I’m not doing anything technically wrong, I don’t want to create friction at work. Any advice?
Is it unreasonable to ask someone from PT timezone to follow ET hours for 1 month during critical phase of the project? To be specific.. starting 9AM ET. Work day typically gets over at 6p ET or sooner sometimes, and this person makes it such a big deal and makes it sound like they are doing team a favor.
