Whatever you do in LA, here’s some advice on the taco scene…

I feel like I’ve only seen tacos served that way in Texas!

Don’t know what you’re into at all but Smorgasborg in the Arts District is on Sunday, good for food, watching Sunday morning NFL games with Micheladas/beer, and a little shopping experience.
Food wise, most restaurants by the water aren’t great buuut a few recs nearby that are good are colapasta (amazing handmade noodles), hiho (one of the best smashburgers in LA with damn good fries), the misfit (trendy bar/restaurant), and massilia (great vibes, good happy hour)
Love the Misfit!
I don’t care if it’s a see and be seen water spot but I LOVE Shutters in Santa Monica. I actually think the food is good. Excellent people watching. Superb views.
And Casa Del Mar it’s sister hotel! Great for a drink in a scenic place even if you don’t stay for dinner.
Bottega Louie has excellent food and a fun atmosphere (downtown). Highly recommend going to the Getty in LA if you even slightly enjoy museums. Worth it for the views and gardens alone though. And one of the only free activities in LA.
As someone else said, most spots ON the water aren’t that great. If you need a bite a block or so from the water Elephante isn’t bad. If you are a foodie I highly highly recommend going to Birdie G’s for dinner and Gjusta for coffee/pastries/lunch/provisions. I guarantee you’ll love those two places
YESSSS to birdie G’s
