Hi Fishes, Am working as support engineer for bfsi domain. Mostly have work related to pl/sql, Linux. Am thinking to switch and want to know what are the roles i can apply for. I wanted to switch in a developer or devops profile. Currently thinking for Cloud development or data scientist role. Can you guys help me figure out if what am desring is out of the box or is gettable. Also would like to have a road map for this and other roles i can consider that'll go with my current profile(~3yr exp)

Currently going through the hiring process for a role in San Francisco. They told me the starting base was $110K, but this sounds like pennies in a city like San Francisco! I am concerned that if I make it through I’ll basically be poor in such an expensive city, not to mention the taxes. I also have a baby so child care I am sure is expensive. Not sure if it would make sense. Advice?

How does the referral system work? Should I apply from the website and then ask for a referral or is there a chance to ask for an employee to refer internally? Would the latter option be considered ahead of the first option?

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐
