I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. Recently interviewed with another company as a Vendor Mgmt partner. Individual contributor, high visible position with potential. Thoughts?

I had positions in private sector that allowed me to supplement having a degree with experience but not in public sector. Currently a JR PM at an ad agency in NYC. Working on social media for my client. Really don't enjoy it. Previous experience is in experiential marketing and really loved that because I knew humans would interact, touch, and feel the things I helped create.
Not attached to advertising, I crave work that makes me think critically and isn't redundant. I am a huge people person and love interacting with people. I am wondering if anyone has career paths or style of work that is more inline with me 🙂
