I graduated with my Ph.D. last year and have been in the US since 2013 (MS and then PhD). I’ve been in OPT since last year and recently got the STEM extension. Since I’ve passed 5 years on my F1 visa - I’m considered a resident alien for tax purposes. But since I’m still working on OPT and don’t pass the substantial presence test - am I exempt from FICA taxes?

Freelance rates for strategy and research freelancers? I feel like most answers in rate sharing posts are from CD/ACD/AD/CW. I’m curious how much they differ from the strategy side of things. I’ll go first in the comments.

I see everyone screaming “buy the dip”. If you are going to I advise the strategy I learned when I started out 10/20/30, 1/2/3. Invest 1/3 of your cash on the sidelines when the stock falls 10%, another third at 20% and the rest at 30%. Definitely helped in March. This assumes you did your OWN research and analysis on the stocks you purchased. Junk is junk no matter what price you bought it.

Anxiety has been making me a poor performer. Was told that I was being pushed out of a team (by a senior who I get along with that let me in on it.) I'm pretty new so I have no clue what I'm doing or how to handle it. My reviews have been partially or at a level. I don't know what to do. I'm at a loss for words and feel pretty depressed ATM.
