What’s the typical job scope for a junior and how do you bring up asking for a promotion politely? I feel like I’ve been working above my role for quite awhile now and with little oversight from CDs, sometimes taking over for them when they’re out. I’m the only junior on the team and there are no mids/seniors.
Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.
After 3 months of interviewing, I just accepted a Corp strategy role at a F500. Can’t believe I’m on the other side, already starting to get nostalgic.
Very pleased that I held on and my unrealized loss position in crypto overall is almost completely reversed. I realize this is not a story of huge gains (got in too late) but still good news!
Are there exit opportunities similar to b4 consulting in terms of comp, trajectory, pace, hours but without the travel? Not interested in local consulting firms like Slalom. Do mostly shared service
Y'ALL I'M GETTING OUTTTTT 2 YOE in life science strategy consulting, about to exit to biotech for $185k TC and somehow this was only the third application I submitted!! Sorry to brag but I'm on the moon right now, and this bowl was hella encouraging so I wanted to share a little positivity :)

Just got a ping from Facebook for a role as a Decision Scientist- from the description seems like it could be BI/analytics/D.S. Role with an emphasis on “understand how users feel”??? It’s very vague. Anybody out there have experience with Decision Scientist? How technical? How independent? Etc?

I'm getting ready to accept an offer at a new agency, but what I really want is to go in-house. I had 6 very positive interviews at a co. but lost out by a hair. They said they're growing & would keep me in mind for future relevant openings. Is it worth pinging that co's recruiter to let her know I'm considering a role at a new agency & ask if they expect any openings soon? Feels unlikely, but I'd hate to start a new job and then get a call from the company I actually want to work for.
Folks I am from Germany. I have seen MBB hiring culture is very diff than from the US/UK. For consulting roles whether be strategy/implementation/sector-specific they prefer folks with Masters or Ph.D. rather than MBAs from top B schools around the globe. Is it true?
How long did it take you to find a good exit opportunity? Currently want out of EY as I was put on a long term project with a bad client and working terrible hours (80+ hr including weekends) for a couple of months already. I've put on 50+ apps and been denied to some opportunities already without even a chance at interviewing. Losing hope...
I am currently a PL at BCG. Not in a hurry to leave but starting to look at options. What exit compensation should I expect in the Bay Area?
With 16 weeks parental leave at EY, 1yr no travel after after maternity for ACN, and all the distractions of workers with children, firms should show some love to the yeoman single or childless people
Do people still frame diplomas? I have a top-5 mba diploma gathering dust in my closet the last 6 years, is framing diplomas still a thing? Seems expensive, and I can’t think of a non-tacky place to hang it.

I ended up in a heated discussion about something work related with a director and I did not let my guard down and made my points clear. I feel like he now has a grudge against me.
Why does every single fucking person stand up in the plane when it gets to the gate. Chill the fuck out. And make your child stop screaming while you're at it. Happy Thursday fishies 🐠😘
Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?

My company wants to go back to the office but in a hybrid setting on our choice of how many days to go in etc. Is it ok to ask them to reimburse my metro fare since it’s gonna be an added expense that I can just save by staying remote...? Especially since my salary is already bare

Folks on H-1B, do you really need to be in your home office (or within commutable distance during COVID) 1 day per week? How strictly is this enforced, if at all? Thank you!
Hypothetical situation - if your client is a health provider and you get an email from the CEO that says all health workers can get the vaccine. But you know that you will never see a patient and work from home at a computer. Do you get the vaccine by using your client ID or wait for the general public rollout?
Anyone working/worked at EY in the IB division willing to share insights on the analyst-level positions in this group? Want to understand what they really look for in terms of background experience and skills. Degree is in Finance and current work experience is in real estate project management.
Fellow fishes - need some help communicating this one. I am in industry and I have an offer from Accenture which would represent a dream career move for me, as well as a 60% increase in comp and a 20k sign on bonus. The issue is that my manager and the team I work with are just the best people and I am nervous about breaking the news to them. I have only been at this place for about a year and a half. How does I break the news to them?
