How long do you wait to reach out on a job you applied for? Context: I applied for a job that originally posted in July. It finally closed after Labor Day. It’s coming up on three weeks and my application is still “in progress” according to the online portal. This is for an in-house role at a public institution. I don’t want to be a pest and bother their hiring department, but I’m feeling ghosted.

This is a question stemmed from being a consultant people ask my opinion all the time about business and more recently about businesses and educational institutions responses to inequality. Do we believe that this historically white and racist institutions are truly willing to push equality for all or are they just using it as good faith marketing?
