No..anyone having exp more than 6yrs can be offered level 9. So i wud say its a good offer.
How is variable payout??
As you wont b part of appraisal cycle when u join, so variable pay out wud b at average rating that is 50% of variable. That means if they mentioned 27% thrn you will get somewhere arnd 14% of fixed as variable. Bt next yr onwards it can be more or less based on ur performance.
As i said before that totally depends on your performance, skill, project budget. But at average rating, ppl usually get 50-70%.

Salary of 17 is very less on level 9 , my friend just got 28 fixed + variable on level 9
Unilever 1 they might have low balled him on level, but they have compensated him on CTC. You can check this much money is paid almost to a manager only.
