Hi fishes, If your extension is in progress and you get out of the country, will it be denied for sure? Might need to travel on an emergency. Not sure what to do.

Speak to your lawyer, they should advise. But I think it’ should be okay to travel. But if it’s a real emergency, go for it and you will not regret.

Thank you

It’s not necessary. I have teammate who went to India like this and his visa got approved without getting RFP. It’s May be on how accurate documentation is and on luck as well.

like

Well he had a valid visa to come back so he came to US before his visa got extended

like

No, I had that same issue last year. You just have to notify your legal department, travel with all the necessary paperwork, and get a travel authorization beforehand.

like

It’s not automatic denial. Is your visa valid for returning?

Ending by march

If it is an emergency, do not think twice about flying back. You do have to prioritize your personal life/ family sometimes. I would start with getting the lawyers and your PPD/business on board. Get copies of a signed letter which provides details of your employment and your emergency situation. This will come handy for immigration purposes upon your return. Also prepare for the scenario where you are denied entry - discuss with the business if they can put you on a leave of absence while your extension processes. Good luck

I just got approved for my second CC and it has a limit of $18,000. The credit card is with Navy Federal and it’s the cash rewards card that yields 1.75% cash back on all purchases. Can anyone give any tips or ideas as to what I can do with this? I was thinking to purchase an existing business that is already generating income. Thoughts?

I need to make a decision by tomorrow:
Current base salary: $55k
Current bonus: 10.5% (~$5k)
Vacation: 2 weeks
*been with company for 4 years. Started as a product data analyst out of school.

New offer base salary: $90k
Bonus: 12% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

Counter offer: $80k
Bonus: 14% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

The new offer would require significantly more travel. I have a young family and value time at home. My heart is telling my to take the counter offer from my company.

Question for fellow attorneys:

I applied to a credit card with Chase a few months ago and within 7 days I was told it was rejected and they would send a letter explaining why.

Chase has recently calling to say it expired (they said it wasn’t rejected but I was told on the recorded line that it was).

Isn’t this against the law (fair credit reporting act)?. I’m not a lawyer so I’d love to hear your thoughts

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what you make as a typical banquet/events manager for salary or per hour? I’ve worked for Marriott/Bonvoy at the Ritz and for the Curio Collection with Hilton as a bartender/server/banquets captain. Does anyone have experience using the Hilton diamond guarantee? Looking to book a room for NYE - any chance it won’t be honored?

Covered a managers meeting for her yesterday, was with some senior members of the marketing team. A director opens the call with “we are so sorry about the impacts the layoffs have had on your teams today…” then noticed I was in the call and said “we are still notifying others so best to keep it under the radar” …25% of my team was let go three hours later with no warning😬

Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?
