Hi Fishes,

I'm a final year MASc student and have worked for 2.5 years as a Graduate Research Assistant and have experience in mechanical design, 3D printing, fabrication in machine shop, DOE, evaluating performance against requirements, and troubleshooting,. I'm looking for Full-time roles in Mechanical R&D material or process development. I've changed my resume based on past comments. Looking to connect with people in similar or related fields and get their thoughts.

Thanks

Anyone gone on to get their masters and change career paths or know of anyone who has done so? Feel like I have no skills that translate to another industry if I wanted to change careers, so I’d have to get my masters.

“Returnships” - helpful or offensive?

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?

Hi Fishes,

My last working date with TCS is on 4th March 2022 and now they are offering me 80% hike and Canada onsite opportunity and telling that will initiate visa as soon as I take resignation back and also ready to provide written confirmation. On the other hand I have an offer from IBM of 120% hike fixed and performance bonus would be there which I am not considering now.

Which one would be better? please suggest based on your knowledge and experience.
