My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Question for y’all: so I’m working full time while in graduate school part time, both remote due to covid. I expect both work and school to pivot to in person in the fall. I’m debating between continuing to balance both (80+ hr weeks minimum) or leaving my job to focus just on school (i work for a boutique so not a ton of travel). I’m 27m and recently a new manager. Are there any major downsides to taking a year off work? I’m worried about the loss of income and cutting off my growth trajectory
