Too many things at once means I can’t do any one thing right. Trying to draft something but need to get our 5 emails on something else, immediately revise that thing and get it out, speak to the person to update them on that other thing, where am I on the initial thing? Why was there an error in the draft? Because I couldn’t focus and you kept asking me to get it done and I had a dozen other random shit pop up that took attention and then I had to rush back to your shit.

How do you approach collecting documents from a client in response to discovery requests? Particularly with broad and vague document requests that leave you guessing about what the other side is looking for, even after you meet and confer. I’m realizing no one ever taught me a systematic approach to this problem. And that big, name-brand companies are absolutely terrible about record-keeping or even knowing what records they have.
