Hey fishes, I got confirmation of an offer from EY UK for a manager position. However the confirmation is only on mail, I did get a mail from the partner as well. Didnt recieve official contract yet, now I need to answer to another firm now. Although little uneasy in rejecting other offer before getting the contract. HR said it should take around a week, which will be tmrw. HR knows about the situation already & I feel chasing her again will just piss her off. Any suuggestions?

Hi fishes. I have an offer with epam with 16.8 lpa and I asked for salary revise with counter offer. HR said he will get back to me after contacting hiring manager and then after 2 days he said that they couldn’t revise salary as that was the max they can provide for that band. My yoe is 7 and offered band is A3. Do I have any chances of getting salary revised before joining. My date of joining is next month

Received a job offer at a consulting firm as a data analytics consultant for $20k more than I am making now. I am torn on taking the job offer because my manager told me I was getting promoted at the end of the year to a data analyst. I am not sure what the salary range for a data analyst is at my current job. Should I take the job or wait it out to see what my end of year raise would look like? I really like my job and team so leaving would be tough, but this raise is something to consider.

I’m a bit newer to data science and recently read through a few academic case studies on ethical fairness in ML/modeling. Would love to start a thread to hear some more from data scientist/ML perspective.
The most harmful example I came across was bias in ML for the criminal justice system.

Is anyone currently in a data science/ML position willing to share their thoughts/maybe an example based on experience? Thinking about how to actively prevent this kind of bias in future models

Remote customer service jobs? My retired hubby is bored. He was a retail manager primarily grocery stores. So very strong customer service skills. With our household now he prefers 20-30 daytime hrs. Not an in office position.

I’m 26 y/o and working as a sales coordinator (basically an assistant) for 5 national account managers in the investment banking industry. I have a BS in Finance and am series SIE, 7 and 63 licensed. I’m only making $50k a year (before taxes). There are a lot of aspects I enjoy about my job but the pay is not cutting it. What should be the salary expectations for a 10+ years experience with Strong domain and Technical expertise Willing to join Accenture?

I joined mindtree in Jan 2022. Suddenly there is a 10k deduction in salary in the month of April. The salary slip say 10k deduction as INCOME TAX.
Mindtree says "You come under 20% slab according to the income tax calculations. When all the tax slabs are applied you will have to pay yearly tax around Rs. X amount. So that amount will be deducted in monthly basis."
Why sudden income tax deduction? Why was that not deducted in the month of Jan Feb March ?
How can i recover that 10k every month?

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. BP: 23 Lpa + 1L joining bonus with 1 year lock in ( location : pune)
Airbus: 26lpa + 5 L joining bonus with 3 year lock in( location : bangalore)
Shell: 26 lpa ( final offer being rolled out)location : bangalore

Airbus looks attractive but have heard some very harsh reviews on work life balance..
