What is everyone’s experience with background checks when interviewing with companies? Do they call references before or after they extend you an offer?

Anyone else realize only a few months in that big law just isn’t for them? I hate everything about it already and I’m not even swamped yet. Absolutely wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for loans. If anyone else transitioned out within a year or less, I’d love to hear about your experience.

I'm a PharmD graduate about to start at ZS as an AC in a few months. I'm really excited but also super nervous. As a 1st gen immigrant female, the consulting world is very new to me. I started out at a community college and just slowly worked my way up to pharmacy school. I'm afraid that I don't belong in this professional environment. I would love to hear any tips or advice (or better yet, anyone willing to mentor?) on how to succeed and navigate the corporate world. Thank you.

Has anyone pivoted from medical staff services/credentialing into the tech industry/med tech without a college degree? If so, what steps did you take to get there? I’m considering finding some courses that would allow me to transition careers. 1) I’m burntout of what I am doing right now. 2) I want a career that allows me to continue to be challenged in new ways and the opportunity for higher compensation.

My joining date at EY GDS is on 26th of September,2022. By now, I have received a link to upload required documents and also I had a BGV process done by FADV. However, even after completion of address verification, I received a mail stating that my address verification was not successful and I was asked to share my permanent address. Hi ladies. My 10 year old daughter has ADHD and ODD. We are going to need to start medicine for her because these illnesses are affecting her way of life. She gets so mad at the thought of taking medicine that she believes will change her brain. Any tips on how to talk to your daughter about something like this? I am only getting 18.5 LPA (including RSUs) at a Top Product Based Company for 4 YOE, whereas many of my peers are getting 24-30 LPA for my experience level at my company. (some even lesser than me)
