Just saw pictures of my cousin’s wedding and feeling kind of bummed. Everyone was there to celebrate him and his to be wife - and it made me realize no one would be there for my day. My partner is White/American with a very large, close knit family and doesn’t really understand the cultural layers. I think about the mother-son dance or other traditions in any culture that I can’t recreate at my wedding. Not terribly sad, but just wanted to share in case others also have similar experiences.
Anyone else don’t want to get married? I’m not too sure about the kids thing either but as far as marriage I don’t want to keep talking about how I’m not interested in it. If you’re in this situation and from a culture that emphasizes marriage especially for women. What do you do about it? Need advice. I’m 26 btw and have an African background just for context. Just feel like I always have to prove myself for the stance I’m choosing.
I am in Accounting/Finance consulting and I was suppose to be studying for my CPA exam and not working crazy hours. My bosses keep telling me that they are working to transition me off the project, but still I have heard nothing. I want to tell them I am not happy, but worried I might lose my job (The company culture doesn't work their employees miserable). I am not sure what to do at this point. I feel like I am on an island.
Anyone here have any insights/background on KeepTruckin? A recruiter reached out and I'm interested in the role - wanted to see if anyone could provide details on the work culture

Just moved to the city and feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Probably culture shock and social anxiety but does anyone have any advice for adjusting to the city? I would greatly appreciate any insight that may make this a smoother transition. I started a new job remotely a few months ago with no time off between jobs and it’s been “go, go, go” with work and moving. I’m excited and happy to be here but also feel like I’m drowning
Hi everyone! I graduated last year and I’m about 6 months into my first consulting job. I’m not happy, and I’m not sure if it’s the remote environment, the culture, not enough training, or what. Any tips on soul searching I could do to figure out what I don’t like and improve the situation? And to figure out what to look for in my next job? Thanks ☺️
I feel like I don’t vibe with the culture of my firm. Over the past few years the flame inside me was smothered and I’m not happy at work. I’m not sure if I’m ready to make the leap to industry due to it not interesting me, but also don’t know if a different firm would be better. Ill never be an accountanty accountant but al all about the clients and really thrive with them, training/mentoring staff, etc. Any advice?

Does a senior VP in a relatively "no-name" company (like Johnson and Johnson) make more than an entry level Program Manager in Google?
How do you guys actually deal with the stress from our jobs? And please don't give me the "I work out" or I "Go for runs" tropes..that stuff does not help with the day to day stress of our industry. How do you guys deal with it on a daily basis?
Anyone else struggling financially? I feel like my friends think I’m rich with my job but I still basically live paycheck to paycheck...

Wow. This morning on a quarterly regional all hands an Accenture Managing Director (and leader) had the group stop for a full minute for thoughts and prayers for the president in the first lady in the wake of their coronavirus diagnosis. Not sharing my feelings... Just leaving this there.
