Why can’t you move to Canada with Mckinsey? I know so many people who do it because they aren’t picked in H1B and come back on L1
I tried doing that but I work for a specialized office and they could only move me to Costa Rica since that's our other branch

As much as it seems like a visa question, i see this question as more of which lifestyle you want to live. Personally for me, if i think i’d choose costa rica+us if im ambitious in my career, but canada if i just want to raise my family in peace haha

I mean if you enjoy the work, prestige, money and don’t mind broken WLB, but hoping for better WLB at your exit at PE or VC then yes. Consulting in Canada even at Mckinsey don’t make that much - not as glamorous in Canada.
If you want to stay with McK and come back to the US then yes go-to Costa Rica.
McK over the span of 3-5 years will be a good career boost and will give you good exit opportunities as well if you decide to go-to industry.
Take opinion and feedback from folks who have done this before.
Move to Canada. Get into BCG non-niche practice. Get them to relocate you to NY.
Haha sounds like a great plan. Don't know how easy it would be to re-recruit and get into BCG in Canada but worth a shot
Generally better to get put of the niche practice for your practice anyway.
