Looking to buy a house in the next 2-3 months. I’ve read buying for dummies and done research online but wanted to know if anyone had tips/lessons learned from buying a home recently. BTW this will be my first home purchase and I’m planning on putting at least 10% down.

I work in IT Audit with 3 YOE and have been trying to quit since early April. I applied to at least 30 companies but most of them turned me down upon knowing I’m on H-1B and will require future sponsorship. Some of people I worked with before who don’t have sponsorship issue got great offers with only 1~2 tries. I’m very frustrated and start to feel I may be stuck in this job forever… Can anyone in IT Audit share about at what level you start to feel sponsorship won’t be an issue for you?

Employer provides parental leave of 2 weeks for secondary caregiver. Just started exploring NY PFL. Looks like the eligibility is upto 12 weeks for New York employees. Pay can be a max of 100%. Wondering if anyone on H-1B has taken NY PFL previously. Any pros/cons/things to consider?

Anyone have a sibling that cant grow up? I have an older brother thats 35 but cant seem to get out of the teenage kid phase. The older I get the less I can relate to him and I think he feels that acutely. I had an interview last week. The interviewer asked me whether I was apply for other jobs as well & how it was going. After the interview I felt like I shouldn’t have disclosed so much information. I shared that I have been actively applying for other jobs but that I haven’t gotten many responses. And that in the meantime I’ve been focusing on developing myself (finished reading PMBOK, taking LinkedIn Learning PM course, etc). Should I have said this? Now they know I don’t have many options 🤦🏾‍♀️.

I was put into PIP in my first company. I believed my manager said that it's only for improvement. I signed it. Later realized it's a termination plan. So I quit the company. But after 5 years I got a call from my First company HR for another role, I was happy to take that opportunity. But later HR called me and said they couldn't proceed for some reason. Often in the interview, interviewer asks about how virtual dom works or what is react or where is implementation of setTimeoutEffect(in v6 or ESMAScripts). Or Even in Nodejs interview they ask about event loop or v8 engine r libuv which is not required while programming with nodejs. I was just curios why they ask these, because in actual development I dont think these concepts are much helpful (even if those are the once we build things on), these are only for what is happening in background
