Attorneys with the firm often send firm-wide emails advising of in house openings with a corporate client, and solicit recommendations or resumes of qualified candidates. Usually the client contact is a hiring manager for the position. How do I show interest without completely shooting myself in the foot? While I ultimately do want to exit the firm, I also don’t want to be openly broadcasting my intent to leave by telling the firm attorney(s) that I’m interested. Thoughts?

Feeling super stuck in my job, been there for 6 years and the work environment is so toxic! I’ve applied to another department for an internal position so I can try to stick it out while I continue to look for external positions. Anyone hired a career coach before? Any tips on finding a good one?

Do you usually lie about your current salary when negotiating with a new employer? And by how much, 10% 20%? I resent the fact that I am even being asked. What I currently make is irrelevant.
How to negotiate salary offer at a startup given the following. Offer is -$5k my current salary, but I'm up for promotion in a few months which would bump me +~$10-15k, also have an offer from their direct competitor but it's -$10k my current salary since they are earlier stage. Do I have any leverage to negotiate the original offer or no?
Should I work a bit during holiday break to get my areas in good shape or just say f this and take time off because audit is going to get done no matter what. Is it better to wait until promo before switching to other firms? Applying to MBB but worried that if I get the offer I’ll end up switching right before I get my promo from Deloitte. I would likely reset to entry level at MBB either way but the pay would be a substantial bump from my current pay (even after promo). I’m in my second year at Deloitte out of undergrad.
Previously burnout but now recovered from wfh. Unsure if I should still quit since most of my friends are gone Background: -homegrown senior and have received early promotion (Cont.)

Anyone leave before their bonus (before knowing what the amount was) and then regret it when it turned out to be a huge bonus? Got a great offer that I want to take but feeling FOMO by leaving the bonus on the table. And yes, I tried moving the start date and asking them to cover the lost bonus but they said no and it’s still a better offer and it would be irresponsible not to take it.
Just got back from the cook islands and looking for my next island vacation. What is your favorite island to visit? Best sand beaches? Good snorkeling or diving?
