I have just agreed my new contract which is slightly below average salary rate but I don’t mind as I enjoy the work. However in the past year I’ve contributed a lot and done many overtime hrs every week. So this time I asked for 29 days holidays plus bank holidays. Is this too much to ask? I developed job burnout after 3 years in a toxic firm environment. I left that firm and started working as an independent contractor at a different firm doing tax compliance. I started noticing myself burning out by the end of the fall tax season last year. I was super anxious and lacked focus. I just took about 6 weeks off after the fall tax season ended, but I have a lot of anxiety about my burnout returning. Any advice on what I should be doing to ensure I don’t burn out again?
