I got an offer for SDE 2 while I just have experience of 1 year. I have read that 2.5 yoe is minimum requirement to be an SDE 2. So can this be a mistake or does this happen? If it is normal that what can be the reason to make me SDE 2?

Just joined Infosys on Monday and got a call today for an opening in Unilever project. The person mentioned that I will be replacing another resources for now who is on medical leave and would be working on something that is a little below my skill level. Once that resource is back (after 2-3months) I would be transitioning to a better role with more options to look and learn.

I just switched jobs only to find out their processes and software are outdated. I’m afraid that I will lose my skills in the new automation and marketing platforms like HubSpot. Earlier before pandemic the salary on an average was YOE x 2.5 means
5 yoe was 12.5 lacs appx and so on

Now it has just got increased by factor of 3 or 3.25 i.e. 8 year of work ex 8x3 = 24 -27 lacs

What do you think has led to this shift?

P.S : This is just a generalised observation. If you have different notion, it may be some availability bias.
