Yeah 31 for sa is very high and good based on experience

I worked in cts for 4 yrs and switched recently. I used to do pre-sales, delivery and recruitment there. I have seen many got retained for insane salaries. When I asked my boss on how will the company sustain with the billing rates the company has, he said this is a temporary thing to retain the project. I didn't believe him first but later a senior director has sent us all a mail to offer anything possible onsite, highpay etc to retain the resources for short term. He specifically mentioned short term.

See the billing rates are no where near high to support product company salaries in service companies. If you are making loss for the company, they will let you go sooner than expected

Let me throw some inputs with my 15+ years of experience in cognizant. It is absolutely safe to join Cognizant without any thoughts for your offered CTC as long as you are dedicated to 8-12 hours of time in a day. Work life balance depends on your project & based on your offered CTC, you should be having a niche skill set. That's the main reason for offering 30+ LPA for your YOE. Currently, cognizant has a good number of projects and customers are willing to pay for resources. But cognizant is unable to onboard resources which is causing revenue loss. That's why most of the external hires are getting way above the other company CTC & Joining bonus. One point to note here is your offered CTC is equivalent to Senior Manager & Associate director designation salary. So be ready to lace up and dedicate your 8-12 hours for working. No need to think about job security as long as you are dedicated & brush up your skill set. You can explore multiple domain clients, technology stack projects etc.

Here is unpopular opinion, I've recently joined CTS.

How does it compare with other offer? If it is slightly less like 27 LPA and above, go with other organisation.

But if you can manage your spending that is if you do not upgrade your lifestyle according to your new salary and it'll give you additional time to look for other job in case they fire you.

If they fire you with 35+90 days salary, It'll be equivalent to your 8 month salary as of now. I'm assuming here that you can make switch with no problems after 6 months also if something goes wrong.

You may have other parameters to consider, I'm simplifying your problem too much, so it may be a weird answer.

like

I am also new to Cognizant. What is this 35+90 days?..

Don't join. It can collapse anytime soon. Just think why they are offering huge ctc, later even if you resign no other organisation will schedule an interview after knowing your cctc

like

Of course go with alternate offer. It feels low because you are trying to compare with cognizant's offer.

Cognizant should be avoided

I got 24 only for PM!! 😂😂

like

Exactly ! Cognizant is far better ! I have great manager from chennai super supportive ! Cool

OMG. That is a huge package. Here so many M and SM leval people are working for below 15L package

like

How? Have they ever switched company or just in CTS from the beginning? 15 lpa is common.. Right? Any 5-6 yoe is getting that too not very high for them
If someone is not changing, that means he/she is getting some benifit for sure, that is less workload and people don't want to get out of comfort zone.. With every switch work load also increases..

Run as far as possible. I worked a decade for them and as M my sal was 13L. They will fire you as soon as you are out of project for 35 days.

like

Tbh IT is like that only, now fb and MS fired too, are not those Leetcode solvers? This is not government job, but yeah now govt high school teachers are getting 45k per month from the beginning, and a job with no stress, no deadline, so we should not compare what was there 5 years ago. Price is increasing like anything, tbh I have cried for money, literally cried when it was 22k per month in a city like Chennai, and i never forget those days even today, aaj kal peon ko 22k mil raha hai.. So a request to all the seniors, please don't compare what you were getting, we can raise our standard, why only employers!!! Government salary dekho ek baar 65 k mil raha hai MBBS ko.. Woh v in small city.. Are we dumb that, we will get 25k in the beginning and will continue

Please avoid CTS.I had horrible exp. recently. I switched as soon as I got know few red flags.

like

Cognizant 2, if you don’t like the project which you referred as crap then you can reach out to the pm and ask him to release from project and can start looking for other project being on pool(bench)

Yoe and tech stack

This is the highest package I have seen here for SA. Please take your chances. Cts is just like any other service based. Has all the problems we might face else where. Also the pros.

like

I'm sa, and it's not even half

like

Ohh, when you will switch, you will earn a lot.

I would say go for it. I Saw many ppl working there with fat packages.

like

Nope its not safe in cognizant iin most of peojects

Dont even come near cts

No one tells you. Don't think you got correct answer every time on this platform. Just think yourself if you are feeling comfortable with this and confident on what you are doing then go with this.

like

Bahi CtS me soch samjh ke jaana..
I left CTS recently and I know what is the condition of the project after leaving ...sab project me chhodh ke bhag gaye aur project ke l... Lag gaye hai aur bahar se bula ke tumhare bhi na laga de

Yahi tension hai, ki kahi aag na lagi padi ho project me aur mujhe fire fighting krni pad jaaye

I have another offer wherein I have been offered the Technical Architect position, should I go for that, they are offering a lower CTC.

Technical Architect is equivalent to M here, you will be more comfort in that position but only choose if you are okay with the CTC

Well I think within 2 years you have great chance of becoming M, given 9 yoe. And with that you get 15% hike plus the standard 8% hike for average rating. So net of 23%, in just 1.5 to 2 years

But plz have that with HR before, a clarification on promotion

My current employer is trying to retain me stating that they will match the offer (I have two offers at promoted level with Accenture strategy and PWC) and give me promotion in March. But need my commitment in written first that I will stay, only then they'll proceed with retention process.

Should I stay or jump as I haven't heard anyone getting a mid year promotion (in March)?

Appreciate your thoughts. TIA
