I have been offered a position in-house at a $500M-$1B company, mid-sized city LCOL, 10 YOE in private practice. They offered me $120k, w opp for undefined discretionary bonus. No paid parental leave or 401(k) match & only 1 week PTO in first year (but claim they have discretion for more). Is there any way to salvage this? Salary guides suggest TC should be around $200-215k. I want to get my foot in the door but this seems crazy low.

I really feel like I’ve been dealt a really bad hand in my life. It feels like no one gives me a chance. Whether it’s a job I know I’m qualified for, or someone I’m interested in. Even things that appear to be good at first end up sucking. I know I should be grateful for what I have and that so many others are less fortunate. But I still can’t help but think that for a person in my position, given the opportunities that I was given, I am just a complete failure and nowhere near what I could be.

I adopted my dog at around 1.5 yo, and the shelter didn’t have much info on his background, but he was so scared when he first came into the shelter they had to muzzle him. I’ve had him now for ~1.5 years and we’ve made so much progress, but still a lot to work on. He barks at children and occasionally men (he’s gotten a lot better on this), and will approach bigger dogs to greet but will snap at them all of a sudden.
