I have a take home case study for a strategy role at a growth stage startup. With case studies like this, are you supposed to email to ask for more data? They say I can ask questions if I need clarity but it’s not clear if They can provide more info or not, anyone got any experience with this?

Aside from my the role itself, interests and career aspirations. How else can I answer the famous question…why are you leaving consulting to enter industry? I just want to hear your opinion. Any feedback would be great. Interviewing for roles outside of consulting. Not sure how to navigate that question. Can answer it in so many ways
I had an interview last week for a Jr CW job. All went well it seemed. The CCO’s exact closing words were “You’re gonna have a great career. Your ideas are good”. Additionally, a CD there I contacted on LinkedIn said the CCO liked my book. But he ended by telling me they’re still getting things sorted out and to follow up this week. Don’t know if this is a bad sign I won’t get it or if I’m just being insanely impatient and unrealistic.
What advice would you give me as I’m about to start interviewing for SM/ Director roles? 🧐
I got through multiple rounds of interviews for a job and didn’t get moved forward. It’s a Sr job and I’m Sr level. I asked for feedback on the interview process and was told there wasn’t anything specific, I made it far and did well. It made me wonder if asking for interview feedback after Sr level interviews is really appropriate? Should I be far enough in my career that I don’t need that specific feedback?
Has anyone ever taken EY’s FDD case study (non-senior level)? I am coming from a polar opposite department than advisory and, from what I have heard about FDD, the case studies are excel/financial statement prep/finance related.

Any stories of leaving consulting to attend medical school in your mid 20s? I’m thinking about making the jump because I miss science and don’t really like consulting, but I’m afraid of the massive student loans and long stretch of school with no income. (Not very nervous about the hours since I’m already working 70+ hour weeks)

Gross income $170k in NYC. Thinking about buying a co-op. Want to work with a fee only financial advisor to double check that this is a good idea given student loans etc. + to also ensure I am working toward FIRE. Is $1.5k for 3-4 sessions for a full financial plan by a reputable fiduciary a fair quote? Any argument for why these might be a waste of money or unnecessary? It’s a huge financial decision so I want to make sure I do the right thing.

Anyone moved from a condo downtown to a nice chalet/house with a lot of land in the countryside? Our work being full time remote, I’m highly considering this. It just seems to be so much more freedom and space. I’m only 23 and alone but the city is too restrictive and not fun with covid.
I have a utilization question: if you’re scheduled for 40 billable hours in a week but you finish the work in 30 hours you’re 75% utilized which may or may not be fine depending on ur firm. But if you finish the work in 50 hours, youre 125% utilized but you’re going over budget (providing you don’t eat hours). How do you reconcile the 2?
