ACN can definitely offer L8 with 7+ yrs. Just ask them to match the highest offer. Reason with the hiring manager that 7+ is eligible for L8.
ACN doesn't have L8 offered for joinees. (not sure if they have one at all)
People can only join at, say L11, L9 L7 depending on designation i.e. analyst, consultant, and manager.
They see post bschool work-ex in relevant consulting experience.
Accenture has 0 parity! I have 6.8 years of exp and they offered level 10 to me😂
Well your comment about people coming from Indian IT firms asking for 100% seemed like a derogatory comment to make and also had nothing to do with Tech or Consulting. You edited the comment later :)
Also not all Indian firms offer meagre salary to even campus recruits. That comment is again pretty generalized and does nothing to strengthen the point you are trying to make here. If you think that's how it happens everywhere, then you probably need to recheck your facts.
My experience was with Tech and not with S&C, so can't comment on the latter. But within Tech, I have seen the lack of parity based on existing salary in a lot of cases and hence made the comment. I didn't say firms always lowball but this is a very common practice and it's just wrong no matter how much you try to justify it. I reiterate here, the ctc offered should be based on one's skillset and the roles and responsibilities of the position offered and not the previous salary and/or the previous company's brand value! Fortunately, there are companies even in India who follow that and Accenture does not fall in that category.
Also just as a side note, the ctc and level parts were even fine but the kind of harrasment I and lots of other people have faced with Accenture's recruitment team is outrageous to say the least. Maybe your company HRs should learn a thing or two about how to treat a candidate and the professionalism you expect from a candidate for Analyst position from one of these Indian IT firms you so undermine :)
