Is quoting 2x okay.

There is a current trend of companies quoting
30 to 40% above your previous salary.

How should I plan for my salary negotiation with HR.

Any tips / suggestions would be very helpful.

Cg giving retention of 11 ctc+2 bonus and again promising to give further compensation in next apr appriasal cycle.
Having offer from Accenture: 12 f+2.5 v
One small scale.. 15 f, wipro : 13 f +1.5 v
And bitwise and virtusa are in pipeline, will get offer may be more or nearly same.

Worked on a project where I just wrote HANA SQL all day - loved it. But are there any jobs out there where you would do mainly that? Looking at postings it is always just an additional positive for a regular BW position, but never the main occupation.
