I was told to expect a written offer from one of the Big4 soon, however the HR team has stated that they are experiencing a back-log and will get back to me as soon as they hear back. I have been following up for the past 3-4 weeks and can’t help but feel nervous that it won’t fall through. Has anyone been in this situation with the Big4? Can they ghost you if they have already given you an offer (via phone) and you have settled compensation and start date with them verbally?

HELP. I am completing my Solicitor Qualifying Exam (UK) next week and need 2 years qualifying work experience. I was just offered an in-house training contract at a small law firm. The pay is quite bad but the partner I would be working under would be an amazing mentor. I haven’t applied for many other training contracts so now I feel like I’m out of options. Can somebody please advise me whether a small firm like this is the right career move? Ultimately, I just want to be a great solicitor.
