I've been applying to Google and a few other FAANG companies for PM roles but without any luck so far. A question for VCs: I’m currently a VC analyst. I want to eventually come back to the VC industry and perhaps become a partner (if possible). However, there’s an opportunity to work at an Endowment Fund (Harvard/Yale/Stanford level). Would you recommend me to spend the next 3-4 years doing something that’s not directly VC related? I realized I've been a dummy for getting a job at a creative agency and not working on my portfolio. Most of the projects I've taken on, I've done so as a way to support others without taking much credit for it. Now, a better opportunity came along and I don't have anything to show for my talent as a designer. ALWAYS take credit for what you do, even if it's not your project to begin with.

After a decade of IT experience, including 5years as a data engineer, I've decided to apply for an in-company promotion as a data architect.
Though, I do not have prior formal experience as a data architect, I believe I have taken up the mantle in bits and pieces throughout my career and I am confident about taking the position up. But, does the lack of experience count against me? Do I not deserve a salary hike equivalent to the market average at least?

I want to go abroad(UK/Ireland) for Higher Studies (Msc in Data Analytics). Most of the good universities offer this 1 year program.
How much will this make sense at this point of career.

Does it make sense to move from one business unit to another at same position? What sort of pay raise one usually gets with that kind of move? Currently at B30 (Senior Analyst). Also, will it also affect current year’s rating and bonus? Does one have to serve notice period for an internal move? If yes, then how much?
