I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.

I have a salary range in mind for a new role based on online research and target increase from my comp now. But my research shows the data points are for salaries in HCOL areas. Do I need to adjust what I ask for if it’s a remote role and I’m not in HCOL city? Don’t want to overshoot and lose a great opportunity.

Haven't coded in python in months despite being an analytics consultant and I forgot so much about it, especially as I prepare for interviews I need to get out of consulting. I am losing hard skills and it's clear my firm doesn't value them (even though they are clearly misleading applicants and posting so many job openings for data scientists.......)

I had an initial discussion with a recruiter at Microsoft for a director role. She mentioned that the base salary would be $185K. That sounds very low. But I need help understanding if that’s true at all? — This figure doesn’t account for bonuses and stock. It is purely base. For reference, I have 8+ years of experience. Does anyone know what is the average salary at Microsoft for a director level?

I asked a vice chair in my group to talk informally about working remotely going forward (we already are remote now and was largely flexible pre covid) and also a possible pay bump. This is my first salary/work benefit negotiation and I’m so nervous I might just unhire myself before we actually get to talk 😭😭

Looking for some advice. Currently contributing 10% to 401k and maxing out Roth IRA, and remainder of savings (usually $800-$1200 per month) putting in a HYSA for a down payment on a house. Hoping to buy in 2-3 years once we (partner & I) have a sizable down payment. Should I continue to put all my non-retirement savings in an HYSA for a downpayment or should I also contribute to my brokerage and invest to grow wealth? (24yo, $85k)
I can’t tell if I’m being too sensitive or my seniors are really passive aggressive towards me all the time. Like I can’t lash out at micro-aggression, what am I supposed to say? Treat me the same way as you treat the other staff? My working environment has taken a toll on my mental health and my desire to stay in audit. And idk if it’s my fault or I’m just in a really toxic environment. I haven’t really been on other teams.
