Ethical question: would you try to negotiate a raise in current job if you know you’re actively looking elsewhere? Context: had an incredibly challenging year with a huge project that completed successfully. Extremely complex tasks and long hours. Got an award for “disruption” but in summary, the role evolved and now I want to ask for market adjustment /as well as merit raise. I also hate what I do at the moment and can’t wait to leave, but might take months. Should I still ask for a raise?
I have an interview scheduled for this Friday but I’m feeling very unprepared. I need more time to think through my professional experiences and how that translates to the role in question. How does it look if I move the interview to next Friday? Would that raise eyebrows?
I am having 5+ years of experience in backend development and I have cleared all technical rounds of EY for SDE 2 role. Tomorrow, I am going to have an HR round for a salary discussion. can anyone suggest the expected salary for the same profile, what should I ask HR about related to compensation?
Interview questions for senior leadership? I’m in the final round of interviewing for a consulting role and I’m meeting with 4 senior principals and the MD of the firm. What types of questions should I ask them?
Has anyone exited to Appian Corporation? Looking at a strategy analyst role and wondering if it is the right opportunity.
I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now

Starting as an associate after going to get my masters degree (worked in sales for 2 years following undergrad). Did not realize nearly everyone in my hiring class is about 3 years younger than me. A friend said that I should have been brought in as a senior associate, but I’m not sure if I’m qualified. Did I settle? Or should I be grateful for my current role? I’m leaning toward the latter, but still feel like I had a delayed start
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Any QA or SDET in here who transitioned to data analyst or data engineer role? What prep work did you do to transition to a new role? I tried to apply for one position but was told to learn more complex SQL queries. Is basic sql not enough and just learn building complex queries at work?
Trying to move from Canada to the US. Currently an Analyst at D I know a lot of firms are actively hiring, anyone willing to help with referrals? I’d prefer staying in consulting but open to any interesting roles.
Anyone move from big4 transaction service into corporate strategy / corp dev role? Looking for past experiences - what to do, what not to do, where to look other than job boards, etc. Currently Senior Manager and have a strong interest in tech/Fintech. 🙏
Have 2 offers right now and appreciate if anyone can provide some advice. 1) My background: 3 YOE in IT audit. Still like the job, but would want to have something that is either more technical or related to business process improvement. 2) Offer 1 from SAP: - Senior security compliance role, mostly doing ISO compliance for international components - Total package around 110k
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Compared to FRM, CFA is tough because it requires an enormous commitment to complete all three levels
Do you ever get conscious telling people that you work in HR? I feel like there is a stigma against our profession.
I hate my ex-mentor - just putting that out there. Should’ve been promoted last cycle but he held me back so now gotta suck it up and take on next level role which clearly I was ready for while getting paid $65K less than my colleague
Does KPMG really pay less than the other Big 4 firms? Or does it come down to negotiating and experience?
Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions? A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role? I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.
There are multiple platforms that provide data science interview preparation courses? Are they really worth it for someone who is trying to switch to a data science career or self study is more beneficial. Please share your opinion and recommended platforms you have been benefited
Has anyone met anyone else on here yet?
Is staying on a project and being the one the current manager coaches up for manager the only way to get a promoted to manager? I’m experienced enough and have leadership and financial reporting responsibilities but I’m not as tenure as the other senior and she has more leadership responsibility. Assuming zero shot at manager?
I'm a benefits director at a large company, and we're adding a fertility benefit starting Jan 1. It looks a lot like Deloitte's program (just noticing Deloitte a lot in this bowl), though ours will be slightly more generous with lifetime maxes. I'd love your feedback about what your employers do especially well or poorly, just to ensure we don't have huge blindspots as we roll it out from scratch. Honest feedback from people who are on this journey is appreciated!!
I just got an appointment for collecting my h1b stamp in Jamaica nov 5. Many openings there if anyone needs.
