Hi friends, I have a question for those who have taken a Qatar airways international flight out of Dallas, TX. I’m packing my parents bags and as usual they are overweight 😐. Do they weigh the carry on at the gate? They are taking a domestic flight to Dallas and getting on the international flight from there. American Airlines do not weigh the carry on but want to know if they weigh the carry on at the gate where they are taking the Qatar flight. Want to add a few extra pounds to the carry on 😬.

I’ve been a paralegal for about 30 years in private law firmS. As I get older, I feel like it’s time for a semi-career change. How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

H1-B transfer question

I recently accepted an offer to join a company (A) . They started my H1-B transfer and I received today the approval notice for the transfer.

However, I accepted last week a (better) offer at another company (B) and they will start soon my H1-B transfer.

I attend to tell company (A) on Monday that I will not be joining them. Will there be any issue with company B filing for a H1-B transfer soon?

How did you ask for green card upon receiving H1B? I am a H1B holder thinking about asking my employer to sponsor my green card (same employer who sponsored my H1B). Curious to hear how others with similar experience have managed such conversations!
