Hi friends, need to share a podcast that I found the other day that has been so incredibly helpful: Dr. Margaret Rutherford’s SelfWork Podcast. She talks about mental health issues from a therapist POV with so much knowledge, caring and empathy. It’s so calming to listen to and has kept me sane this weekend. I hope it can help others here too.

Thank you. Looks like a lot of great episodes! Personally I haven’t found therapy helpful, but there are some books and podcasts that have helped me tremendously so thank you for sharing. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive of course but this “self-help” along with some good friends has been the most useful for me.

A book that has helped me a lot is Philosophy for Life and Other Dangerous Situations. It takes you through the major Latin and Greek philosophers but uses anecdotes to show how their teachings can be used to manage the issues we face in modern life. For podcasts I like Mindset Mentor and School of Greatness.

Anyone know of job opportunities for a UK qualified solicitor (corporate law) in Germany? Doesn't necessarily have to be legal counsel, open to other roles, preferably not a big corporate firm (mental health reasons).

S.O. and I are moving to Germany, both are allowed to work there due to EU nationality so visa is not an issue. Unfortunately not great German language skills (fully aware this poses a problem).

I acted (regrettably) foolishly when I was new to advertising at 24, I got drunk at an office party and apparently acted like a clown (I had a drinking problem and have since worked on it) now & 15 years later, people still bring my antics up - I feel using it to tarnish my reputation even though I l’ve bettered myself. I’m having my second anxiety attack since yesterday and can’t seem to get a grip. I’m so overwhelmed with work, and have been raising the alarm for months that our matter is understaffed and I can’t handle the workload. Any advice as to how to help my other-half (who has bouts of anxiety and depression) apply to jobs? He’s going through a particularly rough patch at the moment. We had a big chat the other day which was great! However, even if we agreed that I’m doing everything I can for him (his words) it has to come from him (which we both agreed).
