Hi Goolgers - I just received an offer and started my negotiation process. Before comp, my recruiter and I are negotiating on location. I’m currently located in NYC but the role is in HQ. I’m unable to move to CA due to my wife’s job, so I’m curious to know more about if you had any experiences in negotiating location or getting approved to be “remote”? Any pointers or advice would really be appreciated!

2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. I feel pretty okay about it (market salary deduction notwithstanding), but want to make sure I’m not being naive.

I am working towards a promotion within my same team in the near future but an Account Manager position has opened up now in the construction space within our office. Was interviewed last year around October by google for a role at L5 level. Could not reach hiring committee level. In 2017 I was interviewed and could reach hiring committee but could not move any further and could not get selected. Given these two prior attempts, should I expect to get an interview by google anytime in future? How long one has to wait before getting interview from google after not getting selected during an interview process? What is the best way to get internal referrals?
