You can resign even with no offer at all!
Verbal doesn’t mean anything, the offer goes through other departments as well prior to being sent written. I’d honestly wait, especially with the current state of the world.
Yeah 0 chance I’d resign without a written offer in this environment
Wait for a written offer with a written start date with this environment.
Not only that, wait until you are closer to the start date.
I’d say it’s a good practice to always get the written offer.
If you have any disputes with your future employer regarding pay, benefits, etc., having that written offer will give you more recourse than just a verbal offer.

Agreed. I’ve gotten two verbal offers this month and one was paused/taken back on Friday 😭 so think it’s for the best. With things reopening hopefully it doesn’t take too long but things are changing quickly.
