So my husband and I decided to name our son after my husbands grandfather who passed away when my husband was a kid. We just found out that his grandfather spelled his name differently than we thought and were planning on spelling our son’s name. I like the way we were planning on spelling it better. Would you use the actual spelling of the name or go with the one you like more? Context: it’s a slightly unique although not entirely out there name.

Took the bar in 2013. Worked a year at a midsize foreclosure law firm and under a year at a small company as inhouse. Got married and had a kid and took a paralegal job working for judges in the federal government. Done some volunteer work started a law firm but never really did anything with it. I now want to practice again and don’t know where to start. I’d like to stay with federal govt due to my student loan debt. Should I devote to my law firm? Is it impossible to get back into practice?

Today I finally took the day off for my mental health. This year, I lost my childhood dog of 16 years, am planning my wedding in the time of corona, and dealing with an emotional/verbally abusive parent. Was traveling coast to coast weekly before quarantine set in and never took time to grieve or process things. And since WFH it’s been 60 hour weeks and some weekends working. Today after some hurtful comments from my dad, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Glad I took this day to reset.

My wife is worried about her career. She was a HS teacher from college until 30. Then changed career to be in tech partnerships, essentially BD roles. Did that until 32 when she became pregnant and took career break to look after kids for 3 years. Now she’s 35 and lost. Too old to start a career from the bottom, too inexperienced to get middle-management roles that she might be good at, and is disconnected from the job market having been a SAHM. How can she find her way?
