Hi guys,
First time i write here!
I am building my pitch deck for my start-up and was wondering for a pre-seed round what are the average/awaited funds "allocated ratios" for a 500K funding for VCs in terms of :
The business is related to crypto and NFTs, where compliance has its importance.

New hires %
Product %
Marketing %
Compliance and Legal %
Other operationnal costs %

Thank you in advance for your precious advices and tips!
Good day

Don’t allocate funds as percentages without any justification. Instead, map out what the company will need to do to achieve its 12-18 month milestones and figure out how much money will need to be allocated to each function to do their part.

Couldn’t agree more. Startups can have a wide range of needs and priorities depending on industry, product, business model, and more. Narrowing down a vision, working what the milestones should be, then planning for these milestones is the best way of going about it.

Y Combinator takes a cool 7% for a 500k seed round. The rest of the VC industry uses YC as a benchmark.

Considering an exit to a startup that just completed a solid series B. They’re willing to provide competitive comp package and surprised how large the base is for a startup. Valid concern or am I overthinking it?

I work at a pretty small data consulting company. Our revenue is definitely not through the roof but we’ve done well enough to avoid having to give up more company equity in funding rounds. Something I’ve noticed that is odd is that leadership is very protective of SOW’s we have with the customers. I need them as a source of truth for my position but I am not given access to review just have to ask 1 off questions. Any thoughts??
