I’ve been doing debit spreads to cut my losses, and I’ve been making pretty nice gains. Big name stocks like Tesla, Apple, and Microsoft are a third of my portfolio. If you do spreads, do it on companies that are popular. Given the pandemic, the best advice is don’t be greedy- don’t wait too long to sell.

I’ve done cryptocurrency and I’ve gotten 5% return. Considering FED might move inflation to 4%, its a good deal I think.

I think it is a good deal too. What platform do you use?

1. Learn about trading and the terminilogy. Read everything you can handle on Investopedia. 2. Know what you trade. 3. Know what you don't know. 4. Use a real broker, not RH like you want. They have a repeat history of botching orders. 5. Start with paper trading with whatever broker you chose. This will help you learn the platform without risking your capital. Just understand that it will NOT simulate your trading strategy's performance, as your impulses to buy or sell will be different with real money, as will the time taken to fulfill your orders. 6. Remember that inverse Cramer is a valid trading strategy. Don't blindly listen to "experts." Do your own research and diversify.

Also in DFW here! There is (or, at least, was in 2019) a meetup group in north DFW (maybe associated with the Dallas Maker Space in Farmers Branch?) that talked stock trading strategy. You may try reaching out to the DMS and see if they have any information. Aside from that, I highly recommend paper trading! My account with TD Ameritrade has this feature and it's great for a newbie to learn the basics or even experienced traders to try new strategies.

I have a lump sum of money I’m looking to DCA over the next while (about 20% of my current portfolio). My portfolio is a mish mosh of stuff that’s got a lot of overlap and I’ve never given it much of a high level look like the below picture before. Thoughts on what ETF to invest the money into based on my current allocation? Any other general thoughts also welcome. Retirement accounts will continue to get maxed out. Thanks in advance!

Moving from east coast to Bay Area. I work in Menlo park and wife is a consultant that needs to be within reasonable distance to SFO airport. We want to be fairly low key and are in our 30s. Currently thinking of living in Redwood or Menlo park. I only need to be in by the office once a week. Are there any other places that are decent in South Bay and not too expensive?
