Currently about 6 months in at a highly regarded Boutique/T2 type strategy consulting firm. I am looking to lateral to MBB and have seen varying advice on when to throw in an application. Have good resume with great experiences + T15 undergrad school. Especially with the slowdown on experienced hires, are there any recommendations for when to apply?

Amazon or Atlassian - I had accepted an offer from Atlassian(58lpa) but now expecting an offer from Amazon(Consumer org, no TC yet but expecting > 70lpa). Should i go to Amazon? Both for SDE2.
Atlassian pros - good culture, wlb, benefits
Atlassian cons - office in B’lore(i plan to go hybrid in a few months and not remote), slow promos and growth.
Amazon pros- better brand, higher TC, better learning, Hyderabad location(have friends there).
Amazon cons- PIP, high ops, no wlb, bad culture.

I have 20+ years of HR systems experience.. specialized in global payroll and absent management. Have done multiple implementation projects. I am very much interested in working for workday. Why does Consulting in the UK (London) seem so absurd? Working on an cross border staffed SOW and my firm’s London rates are basically the same if not slightly higher than our NYC rates, but I know the consultants over there make a fraction of what we make here in NYC. On top of that, London is as expensive as NYC. Where’s all the revenue going? Are partners in the UK proportionally richer? How the hell do consultants survive on $40k GBP a year in London?
